YoungBlues thump City to top table
Town U18s secured a 5-0 win over Bristol City this morning and now sit top of the Professional Development League Two South table.
Two goals from in-form forward Zak Brown put Blues in the driving seat, before an own goal and strikes from Bailey Clements and Luca Vega saw Adem Atay's men to a comfortable victory at Playford Road.
The game was out of reach for the visitors by half-time after Brown netted twice in the opening six minutes before a City defender diverted Thomas Hughes' corner into his own net just before the break.
And Town started the second half just like the first with Clements adding a fourth with a superb drive from 25 yards out.
Vega made it five with a fine header from Matt Healy's corner in the dying stages.
Elsewhere Cardiff City U18s lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace U18s - meaning Town open up a three-point lead over the Bluebirds at the top of the league table.
The U18s are next in action when they take on QPR away on October 6 (kick-off 11am).
