Jon chalks up another cap but Ireland suffer heavy defeat
Jonathan Walters earned his 54th cap for Republic of Ireland in a 4-1 UEFA Nations League defeat to Wales last night.
The Blues forward played the full 90 minutes, but it was a night to forget for The Boys in Green as Ryan Giggs’ Wales ran out comfortable winners in Cardiff.
Elsewhere England’s U20s defeated Switzerland 2-0 at St George’s Park, with Town midfielder Trevoh Chalobah an unused substitute.
Blues full-back Jonas Knudsen is also in the Denmark squad to face Wales in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday afternoon in Aarhus.
Ireland take on Poland in a friendly in Dublin on Tuesday while England U20s are next in action against Netherlands on Monday.
