Blues midfielder on defeat to Swans
Flynn Downes thought Town's performance against Swansea was a big improvement from their defeat to Preston on Friday, but was still left frustrated as the Swans secured a 1-0 victory at Portman Road this afternoon.
Blues lost 4-0 at Deepdale three days ago, and were unable to take anything from the game today as Wayne Routledge netted for the visitors in the 57th minute.
"We knew we had to be better than Friday, that was obvious," Flynn told iFollow Ipswich.
"Today was a tough game against a side that play good football but I think we pressed well and put in a better performance.
"We didn't get the result but we had chances and perhaps it was another afternoon that summed up our season.
"We can learn from playing against sides like this, though, and hopefully one day we will be able to replicate the type of football they play."
