"The only people who should be getting awards this season are the supporters. They are the ones that deserve it”
Town will be inviting 10 fans to attend the End of Season dinner as the Club’s guests as a thanks for the support shown this campaign.
The black tie event, sponsored by Greene King IPA, will see Paul Lambert, his coaching staff and the players in attendance at 'The Hangar' at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall on Tuesday, May 7.
There will be a number of presentations on the night as well as a tribute to Luke Chambers who has passed the milestone of 300 appearances for the Club this season.
The skipper, who was voted Player of the Year by the supporters, told the Club website: “It's always nice to get some recognition from the fans but the only people who should be getting awards this season are the supporters. They are the ones that deserve it.”
Town’s general manager of football operations, Lee O’Neill, added: “It was a very quick conversation with Marcus [Evans, Club owner] and he agreed straightaway that it’s something we should do given the fantastic support the team has had in what has obviously been a very disappointing season.
“Paul is keen for the Club to make the gesture as well.”
The Club will be in contact with 10 supporters in due course, with each stand to be represented.
