"I see the Club are using the slogan - The Fightback Starts now. That’s about right. We have to reset the button and go again - but we will go again together"
Paul Lambert says he can’t promise an immediate return to the Championship but his team will have a ‘real go and it will be exciting’.
The Town boss, who takes his side to Preston on Friday before hosting Swansea on Easter Monday, says the Club is in a good place to bounce back because of the united front.
“I can’t promise that we will come straight back up from League One. That’s a very difficult league and you play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday every week. We will have young players and they will be up and down,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“What I can say is that we will play with energy; we will play with excitement; we will have a real go and it will be exciting. We will see where it takes us.
“I’ve not enjoyed the results. I’ve certainly not enjoyed where we are in the table but I have loved being Ipswich Town manager and I want to take this Club back up as soon as possible.
“The challenge is there now to bounce back. Plenty of clubs have gone down and come back stronger.
“We have a long term strategy here. It’s not going to all click into place just like that but we have to start somewhere. I see the Club are using the slogan - The Fightback Starts now. That’s about right. We have to reset the button and go again - but we will go again together and that’s why this Club will be alright.”
