"I’m pleased for them because we have given them today what they have deserved with the three points”
Paul Lambert felt Town were well worth the three points against Bolton.
A brace from Collin Quaner saw Blues into a two goal lead at the break, with Wanderers finding the net in added on time through a Josh Emmanuel own goal.
“The first-half we were outstanding. We played some really good football and got ahead with two good goals from Collin,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“It was a great cross and a great header for the first goal and then good link up play down the left and his turn and hit was fantastic.
“I thought we were comfortable in the first-half. The lads at the back were excellent. Bolton had bits and pieces in the second-half but I felt we definitely deserved the win. It was a good performance.
“Yet again the fans were brilliant. I’m pleased for them because we have given them today what they have deserved with the three points.”
Paul wasn’t happy that the game was under threat after Bolton had to fix an IT system failure overnight, having only been granted a safety certificate on Thursday after financial problems at the club.
“Some of our supporters would have travelled up yesterday and then to find the game was in doubt, it’s shocking really,” he added.
“It shouldn’t happen at this level and I feel sorry for the players and all the other staff at Bolton.”
