EDWARDS SALUTES SKIPPER

17 August 2019

“He’s always been a threat in the box. He’s done that throughout his career"

Gwion Edwards had praise for Luke Chambers after his late header gave Town a point at Peterborough.

The skipper struck in the last minute of added on time to level the scores at 2-2 when it looked as though Town would suffer a first league defeat of the campaign.

“We’re buzzing for skip,” the wideman told iFollow Ipswich.

“He’s always been a threat in the box. He’s done that throughout his career. His goal rescued a point and that could be a big point come the end of the season.

“We started really well, got the early goal, then had some chances quickly but we need to carry that on throughout the game.

“It's not a bad start. We'll build on this and take it into Tuesday night against Wimbledon and hopefully pick up maximum points.”
