Blues midfielder delighted with team performance and getting on the score sheet

Flynn Downes decribed Blues' 3-0 win over Shrewsbury Town at Portman Road as the "perfect afternoon".

Kayden Jackson struck for Town after just two minutes, with James Norwood doubling the hosts' advantage before Flynn added a third with a fine header in the second half.

"It was the perfect afternoon. To score three goals, keep a clean sheet, get the three points and top it off with a goal was brilliant," he told iFollow Ipswich.

"The early goal really helps settle you, especially at home, so it was great that we got off to a quick start.

"Kayden and Nors have been unbelievable for us this season. Skusey and I can just sit back and watch them do the business!

"But it was a great feeling joining in and scoring in the second half. I'll be honest I closed my eyes, but the lads jumped on me and I was pleased with that one.

"It was another good day and the lads are buzzing. We're top of the league, playing well, fans in good voice and personally I'm very happy with how things are going."
