Baker at the double in thrilling encounter at Playford Road
Town U18s drew 4-4 with Crew Alexandra at Playford Road on Saturday morning.
Teddy Baker netted a brace, while Lewis Reed and Harley Curtis were also on target for Adem Atay's side at Playford Road.
Blues came from 4-2 down at half-time to salvage a point and maintain their unbeaten start to the Professional Development League Two South season.
The hosts started brightly and took the lead in the ninth minute. Reed teed up Baker and the midfielder did well to fire into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
But Crewe levelled in the 12th minute as Town 'keeper Jake Alley fouled Danny Lokko inside the box, Joe Robbins stepping up to convert from the spot.
Four minutes later Reed did brilliantly to volley in from Liam Gibbs' cross and restore Blues' advantage.
The visitors equalised again, though, in the 35th minute as Tyreece Onyeka poked the ball home having been played through by Robbins.
Two minutes later Robbins found the net again as he smashed in a half-volley via the post.
And four minutes before half-time the superb Robbins completed his hat-trick when he casually finished into the bottom corner having skipped away from Fraser Alexander.
Town came out fighting after the break and reduced the deficit through Harley Curtis in the 69th minute. Tommy Smith whipped the ball in from the left and Curtis managed to divert the ball beyond Crewe shot-stopper Andrew Walklate and into the back of the net.
Just as it looked like Crewe would hang on for the win, Collin Oppong was fouled inside the area and Baker fired in the penalty with two minutes remaining.
Blues pushed for a winner until the final whistle as Oppong went close but his strike was tipped away by Walklate.
Town: Alley, Ruffles (O'Reilly 58 (Cutbush 60)), Smith, Alexander, Fehrenbach, Baggott, Curtis, Baker, Oppong, Gibbs, Reed (Healy 62). Unused: Bort, Kabongolo.
