Defender pens short-term deal at Portman Road
Town have completed the signing of defender James Wilson on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old put pen to paper on a five-month deal at Portman Road, keeping him at the Club until the end of 2019.
James, who was born in Newport, began his career at Bristol City and was with the Robins until 2014.
During his time at Ashton Gate he had loan spells with Brentford and Cheltenham Town, before joining Oldham Athletic in 2014.
He made 100 league appearances with the Latics, scoring two goals, and a move to Sheffield United followed.
James turned out for the Blades 10 times and also had a loan stint with Walsall before signing with Lincoln City in January 2018.
Capped by Wales once, James left Lincoln by mutual consent in June earlier this year.
The centre-half has been on trial with Blues for two weeks, including appearances in the pre-season friendlies against Colchester United, Notts County and Cambridge United, and is likely to make the trip up to Burton with Paul Lambert's side for the first game of the season this weekend.
Paul added: "James has come in at a difficult time, with the injuries we have.
"He has applied himself really well and gives us another option at the back. It's a short-term deal and we'll see how it goes."
