Praise for the display but disappointed not to get just rewards

Paul Lambert was happy enough with the performance but frustrated Town didn't get the win he felt was deserved.

Luke Garbutt gave Blues an early lead with his second goal in successive weeks before being forced off with injury and Town had to settle for a point after Lynden Gooch’s second-half equaliser.

“We were in control for most of the game,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“The first-half we were relentless. We had chance after chance but didn’t take them and then we made a mistake for their goal.

“We regrouped and went again. We had a lot of possession and balls into the box but just couldn’t get the goal.

“I’m frustrated and disappointed that we didn’t get the win because we deserved it but we played well.

“It was a good goal from Luke again. He has had a great start but he had to come off with an injury. I think it’s his knee but we will know more later.”

The attendance of 24, 051 was the biggest at Portman Road since the derby against Norwich last season.

“The atmosphere was unbelievable again. To have 24,000 is incredible. What a place to play football. I can’t thank the supporters enough,” added Paul.
