SHEERAN SUPPORT IS GREAT SAYS PAUL

23 August 2019

"He’s a worldwide star and it’s clear that he loves the area and he loves the Club"

Paul Lambert says it’s great for the Club and the community that Ed Sheeran is backing Blues.

The Suffolk-born singer-songwriter kicks off the first of four concerts he has described as the biggest of his life when he takes to the stage at Chantry Park tonight.

The gigs over four successive nights bring to an end his Divide worldwide tour which has seen him pack out over 250 arenas. Close on 160,000 will watch him perform in Ipswich alone.

Ed has been at Portman Road several times over the last year and was at the game on Tuesday night to see Town beat AFC Wimbledon in dramatic style.

“I met Ed before the game and we had a chat,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“He’s a nice lad and a very talented one as well. He’s a worldwide star and it’s clear that he loves the area and he loves the Club.

“He’s a big figure in the community and it’s great to see him at games and supporting his local team.”
