Paul Lambert praised his players for doing a professional job in difficult circumstances at Bolton.
Kayden Jackson and James Norwood both grabbed a brace with Gwion Edwards also on target in the 5-0 win.
"It was difficult for Bolton with the situation they are in and the kids in the team but we did a professional job,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“I spoke to the players before the game about having the right mentality and attitude and they showed that.
“We played well, created a lot of chances and could have won by more.
“It’s been a decent start to the season for us. We have only played a handful of games but we are playing well and everyone is together and that’s the main thing.
“I’m pretty sure Portman Road will be bouncing next weekend and we have to look to build on the momentum.”
Kane Vincent-Young came in for his debut having joined from Colchester and Paul added: “It was his first game for a few weeks and I was delighted with him. He’s going to be a great asset to the football club.”
