“We started off really well and I’m very happy with the way we are playing at the moment"
Paul Lambert said he had no complaints whatsoever after watching his side go two points clear at the top of the table with victory over Shrewsbury.
Goals from Kayden Jackson and James Norwood put Town in command inside the first 10 minutes and Flynn Downes’ diving header after the break completed a 3-0 win for Blues.
“We started off really well and I’m very happy with the way we are playing at the moment. I’ve got no complaints at all,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“Kane [Vincent-Young] was outstanding. Kayden Jackson was excellent as well. The two front lads are scoring goals and you can see the confidence in the team.
“The third goal was terrific. Kane started it back in our box, Kayden made a great run, it was a fantastic ball in and Flynn has got on the end of it. It’s a great header and a brave one as well.
“I’m delighted with Flynn. He’s got a long, long way to go yet but his levels of performance are excellent.
“He’s got the energy to get around the pitch and get in the box. He’s technically a very good footballer. If he can add some goals to his game you’ve got a real player on your hands. What’s important as well is that he’s a great kid, a real nice guy.
“Jon Nolan getting some game time is another bonus. He did well and there is a chance he will start on Tuesday night so yeah, it was a good day for us. No complaints at all.”
