Toffee loanee delighted with start to life at Town and three points against Burton

Luke Garbutt described Town's 1-0 opening day win over Burton Albion as the perfect start to the season and his career with Blues.

The Everton loanee opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a deflected strike and that was enough for Paul Lambert's side to take all three points at the Pirelli Stadium.

"I thought we did well today and we can't ask for a better start than that," Luke told iFollow Ipswich.

"There's nothing like seeing the ball hit the back of the net on the opening day of the season and I'm really pleased to have contributed to the win today.

"Whether it's mine or whoever's we've won the game and that's the most important thing.

"I thought the fans were incredible today too. The noise was unbelievable and they backed the lads for the entire game. I can't wait to get out there at Portman Road next Saturday for a big game against Sunderland."
