Striker on cup defeat against Hatters
Jordan Roberts said a slow start proved costly as Blues fell to a 3-1 defeat in the Carabao Cup first round against Luton.
The Hatters took the lead in just the eighth minute through Lloyd Jones and doubled their advantage 10 minutes later as Elliot Lee converted from the penalty spot.
Andrew Shinnie fired in a free-kick shortly after half-time, with Armando Dobra netting a consolation for Town with 16 minutes left to play - his first goal for the Club.
"It was a tough night against a good side," Jordan told iFollow Ipswich.
"We knew it was going to be a test and the start didn't help at all - we weren't at it in the opening stages and it proved costly.
"There were lads coming back from injury, though, and youngsters involved and as the game went on I thought we got better. We had a good 15 minutes or so at the end where we created plenty of chances but we need to apply that consistency across 90 minutes.
"I'm pleased for Dobs to have got on the scoresheet but it's not the result we wanted. We need to pick ourselves up and make sure we go to Peterborough on Saturday confident we can get the three points."
