Forward frustrated with result but buzzing to return to first-team action at Portman Road
Freddie Sears said he was delighted to be involved again for the Town first team at Portman Road this afternoon.
The Blues forward played the final 10 minutes in a goalless draw with Gillingham - his first senior game in 10 months since injuring his ACL against Norwich City in February.
"I'm delighted. It's been a long time coming," Freddie told iFollow Ipswich.
"I got a fantastic reception which I'm obviously very grateful for and the frustrating part is the result. These are games we need to be winning.
"I came on when we had something to play for but we couldn't find a winner. Of course i'm pleased to be back but as a team we're disappointed.
"Everyone at the Club has been brilliant with me and I have a lot of people to thank for getting me back into this situation. Hopefully I can push on and get some more minutes under my belt with plenty of games coming up."
