“The draw is meant to be regionalised, Glasgow is nearer! says Paul on tie

Paul Lambert said he had plenty of sympathy for Town fans after the Club were handed an away draw to Exeter in the next round of the Trophy.

Blues face the prospect of an FA Cup third round trip to Bristol Rovers or Plymouth on the weekend of January 4 if the team beat Coventry in next week’s replay, then a return to the west country against Exeter a few days later.

“The draw is meant to be regionalised, Glasgow is nearer!” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“It’s not ideal at all, not for the players, the staff and especially not for the supporters who have to go all the way down there for a midweek match.

“It’s what it is though and we will get in with it. It will be another opportunity for the young ones to get some first-team experience.”
