“Freddie is back. Teddy is on his way back and that will add to the quality. Any players that we would be interested in have got to be better than what we have already"
Lee O’Neill hasn’t ruled out adding to the squad in January but says the focus is more on getting some of the younger players out on loan.
The transfer window opens at midnight tonight and while acknowledging Blues would consider adding to the numbers at Portman Road over the next month if the right players came along, Town’s general manager of football operations is not expecting a particularly busy month in the transfer or loan market.
“We are always looking out there to see what areas we could strengthen the squad,” Lee told iFollow Ipswich.
“We have a big squad though and a healthy squad. We’ve got Freddie Sears back and Teddy Bishop is on his way back so they will add quality to what we have already. Kane [Vincent-Young] will return in time as well.
“Any players that we would be interested in have got to be better than what we have here already.
“One area that we will be concentrating on over the next month is getting some of our young players out on loan if possible as part of their education.
“You only have to look at Luke Woolfenden and what he has done this season to see how he benefited from the loan spells he had at Bromley and Swindon.”
