“If we had been offered this position before the start of the season we would have bitten your hand off"
Cole Skuse said Town would have willingly taken the position the Club is in going into the festive programme if it was offered before the start of the season.
While the midfielder was disappointed to see Blues come out on the wrong side of the clash with fellow top six contenders Bristol Rovers, he looks at the bigger picture.
“Of course we are disappointed not to have got something from the game. We had our chances, gave away two sloppy goals but it wasn’t our day,” Cole told iFollow Ipswich.
“We are still in a good position though, second in the league with a game in hand on third.
“I understand we are in a lower league but the boys have done well to turn around what was a losing mentality of last year and be where we are.
“If we had been offered this position before the start of the season we would have bitten your hand off.
“We know there is a long way to go yet and the most important thing is to bounce back at Portsmouth next week.”
