Town beaten in extra-time at Cardiff
Town went out of the FA Youth Cup in extra-time at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Colin Oppong had cancelled out Isaak Davies’ first-half goal soon after the break but the Bluebirds progressed to the fourth round with a close range strike from James Crole.
Liam Gibbs and Alex Henderson both went close for Blues in the first 20 minutes, with Cardiff also threatening though Davies, who had a shot well saved by Jake Alley.
Davies was denied again by a combination of Alley and resolute defending but on 42 minutes he put the Welsh club ahead.
Town were level on 47 minutes through Oppong and both sides has chances before extra-time, Crole going closest with a shot just over the bar.
It was the Cardiff substitute who had the final say though, finding the bottom corner from Davies' cross four minutes into the first-half of extra-time.
