'I look at some of the clubs around us and I think we have more to offer'
Luke Chambers says Town face a cup final every game now to stay in the Championship.
Blues travel to Norwich on Sunday for the derby, with the skipper hoping to overcome a foot injury that kept him out of last weekend’s defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
Town are eight points adrift of safety and while accepting survival is a big ask, he reiterates the belief is still there.
“It’s strange, given where we are in the table, that there is such a good vibe about the place. The manager has to take a lot of credit for that,” Chambo told the Club website.
“With the players we have brought in, there is a lot more experience in the squad and we still believe we can get out of the mess we are in.
“We are playing well and the fact that we haven’t got the points I think those performances warranted makes it even more galling.
“I speak to my dad after games and I feel like a fraud sometimes. I tell him how well we have played but ultimately you have to win football matches and we have not done enough of that this season.
“It’s a big challenge to get out of it but we are getting stronger. The players we have brought in are getting that match sharpness. I look at some of the clubs around us and I think we have more to offer and there will be a game when everything clicks and we win by two or three.
“Hopefully that will be the catalyst and we can go on a run from there because when we have won games this season, we have never followed it up. Every game now is a cup final though. That is the situation we are in."
