Tough result to swallow says Skusey

Cole Skuse thought Sheffield Wednesday’s attack which led to a dramatic goal should never have occurred after Blues striker Will Keane was subject to a strong tackle from Sam Hutchinson just before the Owls fired in the winner at Portman Road.

Second-half substitute Lucas Joao smashed home in the 90th minute to make it 1-0 to the visitors, but Skusey felt it should have been avoided following the challenge from Hutchinson in the middle of the park.

“Since I started playing football the game has evolved so much but particularly in the last two or three years tackles like that don’t usually go unnoticed,” the Town midfielder told iFollow Ipswich.

“It’s a case of fine margins but if you go and see Keano he’s got one hell of a gash down his shin.

“After the tackle we should defend better as a unit, though. It was a tough goal to take and it’s a very tough result to swallow.

“First half we weren’t good enough but we played well in the second and the late goal was a real kick in the teeth.”
