Tactically brilliant but gutting finale says Blues striker

Collin Quaner said Town's 1-1 draw against Wigan at the DW Stadium felt like a defeat after the Latics' last-gasp equaliser.

Blues, who were reduced to 10 men after Jonas Knudsen's red card in the 25th minute, took the lead around the half-hour mark thanks to a penalty from Will Keane, but failed to secure all three points as Joe Garner levelled for the hosts in the dying stages.

"It's hard to sum up my emotions but it's definitely been a hard day," Collin told iFollow Ipswich.

"The team put in an incredible shift right until the end and we were a man down too so conceding like that late on is gutting.

"We defended so well and tactically we were excellent. The lads at the back put their bodies on the line all game but it just wasn't quite enough.

"The boss was proud of us but disappointment overrides everything because we were so close to getting a huge win. We all feel that way.

"Our focus has to turn to the game against Reading next week, though, but I'd like to add that once again our travelling supporters today were excellent."
