Town defender shows support for Elena Baltacha Foundation
Janoi Donacien was at Sprites Primary Academy this afternoon to help promote the great work of the Elena Baltacha Foundation.
The Blues defender was involved in a tennis lesson at the school as part of the Club’s ongoing partnership with the Foundation, with Andre Dozzell and Cole Skuse showing their support for the cause earlier in the season.
The Foundation carries the name of Britain’s former number one women’s tennis player, who was also the daughter of former Town defender Sergei Baltacha.
Elena sadly passed away in May 2014 from liver cancer but the Foundation is there to provide opportunities for children of all backgrounds to play the game she loved.
The Foundation also focuses on promoting fun, exercise and a healthy lifestyle through their educational programme and Janoi was able to learn more about what they do in the community.
“There is a great link between the Club and the Foundation and the work they carry out is excellent,” Janoi said.
“It was fantastic to see the kids getting active and with smiles on their faces so it was a really good afternoon.”
