Boss back in familiar surroundings as Town travel to Ewood Park

Paul Lambert begins a run of taking on his former clubs with Town’s trip to Blackburn at the weekend.

The Town boss spent six months at Ewood Park, guiding the club away from relegation from the Championship in the 2015/16 season.

Visits to Aston Villa and Norwich follow in the next few weeks, with Paul having spent three years at both clubs.

“I’m looking forward to going back to Blackburn,” he told iFollow Ipswich.

“I had a short time there but an enjoyable one. There were a lot of good people working at the club back then and I’m sure a lot of them are still there now.

“The club had probably lost its way a bit in certain things when I went there but it’s a good club, Blackburn.

“It will be tough game for us. They have come up from League One and done well but it will be a tough game for them as well.”
