We will play my way says boss ahead of trip down memory lane

Paul Lambert says Town will continue to play the way he believes football should be played as he returns to Aston Villa at the weekend.

Blues’ boss spent three years in charge at Villa Park after  taking over as manager there in 2012 and is looking forward to meeting up with some familiar faces again.

“I really enjoyed my time there,” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

“It got more difficult at the end but I’ve got some good memories there and I’m looking forward to going back.

“There will be some people there from my time at the club - not too many - but it will be good to see them again.

“It’s a massive club with a great history. They won the European Cup and I met all the players from that team when I was there.

“They have spent a lot of money trying to get back in the Premier League so that shows that money doesn’t always guarantee you everything.

“We know it will be a tough game but it’s a great pitch and we will look to carry on playing the way I believe football should be played.

“We didn’t do enough after going behind at Blackburn and we weren’t at it in the second-half against Rotherham but other than that we have played well. We need the results now though."
