'We have defended brilliantly. James Collins was outstanding' says Paul

Paul Lambert hailed his side’s defensive qualities after the win over Rotherham.

Will Keane’s first goal for the Club on the half hour proved decisive but Town had to withstand an onslaught for much of the second-half to get the points.

“First-half I thought we were excellent football wise and were the better team,”
the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“The second-half we had to weather a real storm. They put long balls in there, long throws into the box. We just couldn’t get out.

“We have defended brilliantly though. James Collins was outstanding. For a lad that has not played for a long time, he was a colossus.

“It was a great finish from Will and he will be better for the game. Collin [Quaner] as well. The new lads have not played much football. It’s a big ask to come in and play straight off but we need them and they have given everyone a lift.”

Paul confirmed that he is still looking to add to his squad, saying: “If we get another loan in that becomes difficult because it takes us to six and we can only have five on the teamsheet but we are still looking to get someone else in.”
