Duo out of contention for Villa trip

Jack Lankester and Emyr Huws will both be missing for Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa.

Teenage Jack has a back problem while Emyr has had a minor setback as he recovers from long term knee injury.

“Jack will be out for a few weeks,” Town boss Paul Lambert told iFollow Ipswich.

“He was at Bury Town last season and now he’s playing in the Championship. He’s handled it well but he’s a young lad and I’m sure it will be down to the load and stress on the body.

“It happens with young players but it’s a little blip for him.

“Emyr has had a little setback. He’s had some fluid in his calf that he’s had to get rid of.

“He’s doing okay but it’s frustrating for him. It’s the mental strain as well as the physical one. We need to get him back because he has a lot to offer.”
