'It’s vital to the Club that we do things like this as well and it was great to see so many families here and particularly youngsters' says Paul
Close on 4000 fans attended the Club’s Open Day with Town boss Paul Lambert delighted to see so many young faces at Portman Road.
The Town boss oversaw training on the main pitch with the first-team squad after the players and management took part in an hour long signing session, with 2000 or so fans getting autographs and selfies.
“It’s staggering how many fans come to the event,” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.
“It’s vital to the Club that we do things like this as well and it was great to see so many families here and particularly youngsters.
“We need to connect with the younger generation because they are the season ticket holders of tomorrow.
“Supporters are the bedrock of any club. Without supporters you don’t have a football club.”
As well as the signing session and training, there were a range of fun activities in the FanZone for Blues of all ages.
