2000 PLUS BACKING BLUES AT COLCHESTER

19 July 2019

Town fans travelling in numbers down the A12 as build up to season continues

Town will be backed by more than 2200 supporters at tonight’s friendly at Colchester.

New signings James Norwood and Tomas Holy, along with loanee Luke Garbutt, are likely to feature at the JobServe Community Stadium, kick-off 7.30pm.

Former Blue, Dean Gerken could appear for the Essex club, having joined them recently after spending five years at Portman Road, while Town boss Paul Lambert lists Colchester as one of his previous clubs in management.

Town will definitely be missing Teddy Bishop, Toto Nsiala and Jack Lankester, who have all been ruled out for the start of the season after returning from the tour to Germany with injury while Gwion Edwards (groin) and Jon Nolan (calf) will also be absent as they recover from injuries picked up last term.

“Gwion is close to a return to training while Jon is at the AlterG [anti-gravity treadmill] stage,” Town physio Matt Byard told the Club website.
