'He has come back in great shape and has dealt with everything really well'
Town goalkeeping coach Jimmy Walker says for ‘selfish reasons’ he is delighted Bart Bialkowski has remained a Blue.
Bart looked set for a move away from Portman Road last month with Millwall close to securing his services but the Poland international has remained at the Club and has impressed Jimmy with his form and attitude in pre-season training.
“There was a lot of speculation about him in the summer and I wasn’t sure how he would come back when we returned to training but he’s been great,” Jimmy told iFollow Ipswich.
“He has dealt with everything really well. He’s had a tough year or so. There has been so much going on for him in his head.
“He didn’t reach the standards he set for himself last season and that disappointed him more than anyone else.
“We all know Bart’s qualities and if he can get back to that level that will be fantastic for everyone.
“He has come back in great shape and from a selfish point of view, I’m delighted because with Tomas [Holy] it gives me two fantastic ‘keepers pushing for a first-team place.”
