No concerns over start of campaign but Alan likely to be protected for first few weeks of pre-season

Town are hopeful that Alan Judge’s wrist injury won’t impact too heavily on his pre-season.

The midfielder sustained a broken wrist in the Republic of Ireland’s draw against Denmark on Friday and is having surgery today.

Alan, who is hoping to be at the Aviva Stadium tonight to watch Ireland take on Gibraltar in their European Championship qualifier, is due to report back for pre-season training at the end of June though his involvement in international football is likely to see him join his Town team-mates later.

“We are hoping his injury won’t have too much impact on pre-season for Judgey,” Town physio Matt Byard told the Club website.

“It’s likely that he will have to avoid contact for the first few weeks but we will see how it goes.”
