Pupils receive message of support from Paul Lambert ahead of national semi-finals

Town boss Paul Lambert welcomed members of the Bealings Primary School futsal team to Playford Road earlier today.

Pupils from the school in Little Bealings spent the morning watching the senior squad train before collecting autographs and posing for photos with first-team players and coaching staff.

The school's futsal team, made up of boys from years five and six, is into the U11 National Futsal semi-finals - a remarkable achievement considering that there are just 19 boys in the two year groups combined.

En route to the semi-finals, which take place in Birmingham on Wednesday, Bealings won the U11 Boys Futsal tournament at Gainsborough Sports Centre as well as the Boys Final at Inspire Suffolk.

They were then victorious in the Regional Final at the University of Bedford.

And Paul was full of praise for the squad: "They've done brilliantly for such a small group - they're clearly a talented bunch," he said.

"They should be really proud of their achievement and I wish them the best of luck for the semi-finals."
