Blues winger on Royals defeat
Gwion Edwards said Town's 2-1 defeat to Reading summed up the story of Blues' season after the Royals netted in the 90th minute to snatch all three points at Portman Road.
The Welshman was introduced to the action at half-time and scored what looked to be a crucial equaliser in the 82nd minute, but it proved in vain as Modou Barrow found the net in the dying stages.
Barrow's strike was the third goal Town had conceded in second-half stoppage time in six league outings.
"When I scored I thought we were going to go on to win the game," Gwion told iFollow Ipswich.
"But again it seems to be the story of our season - little mistakes have proved costly. We didn't take our chances, they did, and that's very disappointing.
"There have been a few games this season where we've conceded in the last minute and as a team we need to defend better.
"Really we needed to win today but the boys will carry on fighting right until the end of the season. We've stuck together since the beginning and that won't change.
"The fans have given us unbelievable support all season and it was exactly the same today. I really hope we can give them something to cheer about sooner rather than later."
