"We are giving it everything, we’re just not getting the rewards" says Paul after Forest draw
Paul Lambert hailed his team’s exciting football after watching Blues have the better against Nottingham Forest without getting the three points.
Collin Quaner’s first goal for the Club gave Town a fifth minute lead but Molla Wague forced in an equaliser on the half hour to make it six 1-1 draws in the last seven games for Blues.
“I thought we were brilliant. We played really good football and it’s just frustrating that we didn’t get the win we deserved,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“One of the Forest lads said that after the game, how good we were. That sums it up really. Okay they had a good case for a goal in the first-half when Murphy was given offside but we had three or four really good chances in the second-half, had a good shout for a penalty at the end and I don’t think anyone would have complained if we had won 4-2.
“I can’t ask for anymore from the players. We are playing terrific football. It’s exciting and the supporters are seeing that and are playing their part. They were fantastic again.
“Forest are three points off the Play-Offs but there was nothing between the teams. We are giving it everything, we’re just not getting the rewards.
“There are not too many games I have gone away disappointed with how we have played. We have drawn a lot of games and when we have got beat, it’s by the odd goal.
“I’m just frustrated for the players and the supporters that we didn’t get the win today because we deserved it.”
