“No team has given us a going over and we have played well in a lot of games but we can’t finish things off”
Paul Lambert said that Town’s defeat against Hull summed up the season.
Blues had chances with Kayden Jackson having a shot cleared off the line in the first-half but two goals from Kamil Grosicki gave the Tigers the points.
“We gave it everything again. We played well, had 60 per cent possession, 15 shots, six on target,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“They had three shots and scored two goals. That’s the way it’s going for us. It’s been the story of the season.
“There is no blame attached, it’s collective but we are just missing that goalscorer. That’s why strikers get paid the most money, they are the ones that put the ball in the net every week.
“No team has given us a going over and we have played well in a lot of games but we can’t finish things off.”
Paul heaped praise on the supporters again, adding: “All I can do is thank them. I feel for them. They have been fantastic and they were again this afternoon.
“I’ve not seen support like that before for a team where we are and I’ve been in football a long, long time. It’s incredible and that’s not a flippant comment.”
