Matt to have surgery after ankle ligament damage in training
Matt Pennington will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his ankle ligaments.
The loanee has returned to Everton and will have an operation on Monday after sustaining the injury in training.
“Matt has ruptured his ankle ligaments and he won’t be playing again this season,” Paul Lambert told iFollow.
“That’s what happens when you are bottom of the table because he’s been great for us.
“Teddy Bishop rocked his ankle in training and I couldn’t take a risk with him and Jon Nolan, that looks like an achilles injury so we will have to see how he is.”
Jon was forced off early in the game against Hull, while Kayden Jackson was also substituted nursing a hamstring problem.
