Boss gives injury update ahead of clash at Portman Road

Paul Lambert revealed that James Collins and Collin Quaner both trained this morning and could be involved when Town host Nottingham Forest this weekend.

James was forced off against Reading at the start of the month with a calf injury, while Collin missed the 1-1 draw at Bristol City in midweek with a thigh strain.

Dean Gerken, Flynn Downes and Matt Pennington were also absent from Town's squad at Ashton Gate, the trio had been struggling with illness but could be in contention for Saturday's match at Portman Road.

"James was out with us today but we'll have to see how he is tomorrow, Forest might be just a little bit too soon for him" Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"Collin also trained but like James we'll need to check on him before Saturday.

"Matt, Flynn and Dean have recovered from the sickness bug, though, and they have also trained.

"It's good to see some of the lads coming back because we have been missing a fair few in recent weeks."
