Young Blues take all three points to go top of the league
Town U18s beat Crewe Alexandra 6-3 at Playford Road this morning to go top of the Professional Development League Two South table.
The three points also means Blues are guaranteed to finish in a play-off place at the very least.
Zak Brown (pictured) gave Town the perfect start when he found the net from the edge of the area just three minutes in.
Malachi Linton levelled for Crewe soon after but approaching the half-hour mark Tyreece Simpson restored Blues' advantage.
Armando Dobra then fired in after Brown's initial effort had been saved to make it 3-1 to Town.
Approaching half-time the visitors pulled another goal back, Linton again on target as he superbly found the top corner from 25 yards out.
But Alex Henderson added a fourth for Blues nine minutes after the restart as he smashed in from Matt Healy's cross.
The visitors responded again, though, as Tyreece Onyeka toe-poked the ball past Town 'keeper Jake Alley.
Brown then made it 5-3 to the hosts in the 61st minute with a superb chip that found the net via the post.
And on 77 the three points were wrapped up when Lewis Reed glanced in another cross from Healy - his first touch after being introduced to the action.
Adem Atay's Blues now sit top of the table, two points above Cardiff City in second place, but the Bluebirds do have a game in hand.
