FLYNN | GOOD TO END ON A POSITIVE NOTE

5 May 2019

Midfielder delighted as Blues end the campaign with a win

Flynn Downes described the feeling of scoring his first goal for Town as "unbelievable."

The 20-year-old broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark as Blues finished the season on a high with a 3-2 win over Leeds United at Portman Road.

"It was an unbelievable feeling when it hit the back of the net," Flynn told iFollow Ipswich.

"I don't score many goals so it was a new feeling, but one I could certainly get used to!

"I've been saying for a while that I need to add goals to my game so I'm glad I got one today and hopefully I can take that into next season.

"The fact that it came in a game we won makes it feel ten times better as well. I'm really glad it helped the team finish on a positive note - we needed it and the fans deserved it."
