Jonas expected to move on but others wait on future plans

The future of Town’s out of contract players will be sorted on Monday when Paul Lambert speaks to his squad before they leave for their summer break.

The current deals for Dean Gerken, James Collins, Tom Adeyemi, Simon Dawkins, Grant Ward, Jordan Spence and Jonas Knudsen come to an end, though Blues have the option to extend some by a further 12 months.

“I’ll be talking to all the players on Monday and it will be clear from there what is happening at the Club,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“It’s something I’ve done at all the clubs I’ve been at, talking to each player in the squad individually. I’ll thank them all for their efforts and wish them well for the summer. The ones that are staying will be told about pre-season and what we are looking for going forward.

“Of the players out of contract, I expect Jonas to move on. He made it clear in January that he wanted to do that, and that’s fine. It’s his choice.

“I thought he would have moved back then but to my knowledge, no one came in for him so he ended up staying here.”
