JUDGE IN IRELAND SQUAD

7 November 2019

Blues midfielder gets nod for showdown with Denmark

Alan Judge has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for a friendly against New Zealand and a European Championship qualifier against Denmark this month.

The Boys in Green take on the All Whites at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Thursday, 14 November, before hosting the Danes at the same venue four days later.

Both fixtures kick off at 7.45pm.

Ireland, with one game remaining in the qualification process, sit joint-top of Group D along with Denmark. Switzerland are one point behind.

Denmark and Switzerland both have qualifiers to play before the final round of matches takes place on 18 November, but a victory for the Irish at the Aviva Stadium on that night would be enough to take them to the finals irrespective of other results.

Alan, who currently has eight caps to his name, will join up with his international team-mates on Sunday, 10 November and will therefore be unavailable for Town's trip to Colchester in the Leasing.com Trophy next Tuesday.
