Blues midfielder all set for Rugby World Cup final as Town have Saturday off
Blues midfielder Flynn Downes said he plans to make the most of a rare Saturday off by cheering on England in the Rugby World Cup final.
Town were due to play Bury at Portman Road this weekend, but the Shakers' expulsion from the EFL means Paul Lambert's side are without a game.
But, Eddie Jones' England are in action as they prepare for a showdown with South Africa in Japan, and Flynn is all set for the big finale.
"I can't wait," the 20-year-old said.
"It's a weird one not having a game but I love the rugby. I only started watching a year ago but I'm hooked.
"We used to play house rugby at school and I was quite quick so I enjoyed that, but when I saw the proper rugby lads go for a training session I thought 'na, not for me!'.
"But I really enjoy watching the game. It's end to end and full on and the big matches, particularly at the World Cup, are unbelievable.
"I'll be setting my alarm and getting up to cheer on England that's for sure."
England v South Africa kicks off at 9am GMT and will be shown live on ITV.
