The defeat ended a run of four games unbeaten for Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg's side.
Henry Wise fired the hosts in front just before half-time, before Joseph Hungbo doubled the Hornets' advantage three minutes after the restart.
Jayden Bennetts made sure of the result when he added a third in the 88th minute.
The U23s are next in action when they face Colchester United at Playford Road on Monday, 18 November [kick-off 1pm].
