"Confidence is the easiest thing to lose and the hardest thing to get back and it doesn’t matter how experienced you are"
Alan Judge says he is beginning to get back to somewhere near his best after impressing in Town’s win at Rochdale.
The Republic of Ireland international, who twice went close to adding to Danny Rowe’s matchwinner as Blues returned to the top of the table, had a difficult summer with injury, transfer speculation and most importantly worries over his daughter who is undergoing specialist medical care.
“Hopefully I am getting there now and getting back to what I know I can do on the pitch,” Alan told iFollow Ipswich.
“Confidence is one of the most important things in football. It is the easiest thing to lose and the hardest thing to get back and it doesn’t matter how experienced you are.
“I have heard people say I don’t want to be here and that does annoy me. People don’t know the full extent of what has gone on but I’m getting there now.
“I’m the first to say I’ve not played well enough but I’m putting the building blocks in place and I feel like I’m making progess.
“I just love playing football and I want to be out on that pitch every week. I have missed enough football in my career.”
