“Having him back on the training field has given the lads a lift" says Stuart but Freddie still a way to go before first-team return

Freddie Sears’ return to the training field has given his team-mates a massive boost says Stuart Taylor.

The 29-year-old striker is making good progress on the long road back from surgery after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury against Norwich last February.

Assistant manager Stuart is quick to point out that Freddie has a way to go yet before he is ready for first-team football but told iFollow Ipswich: “Having him back on the training field has given the lads a lift because they can see how far he’s come; how close he is.

“He has responded really well. He is getting stronger and quicker every day; getting more confident as well which is really important.

“He’s a great character; he’s loved in the dressing-room. We are really happy with him but he’s still a good bit away from featuring in the first-team.”
