"If he can help people by talking about what he’s been through, that can only be a positive for everyone”
Town will be working with Jason Dozzell as he looks to help other people going through similar difficult times as the former Blue.
Jason, who made his top flight debut for Town at the age of 16 and went on to play for Tottenham, has spoken recently of his mental health issues that resulted in a court appearance last week.
He’s now looking to help others who are experiencing the same challenges as himself - with the Club’s support.
“Jason wants something positive to come out of what he’s gone through and going through,” Town’s general manager of football operations, Lee O’Neill, told the Club website.
“The Club are putting together a massive programme through the Community Trust to try and help address some issues in society. We are not saying we are going to solve everything but hopefully some good can come from this.
“Jason wants to go out in the local community and talk to people of all ages and talk about his own experiences.
“I’m sure a lot of people can relate to issues he has faced and if he can help people by talking about what he’s been through, that can only be a positive for everyone.”
