“The great thing is he’s back smiling again and back enjoying his football"
Paul Lambert has praised the resilience of Emyr Huws and says the midfielder can be a big asset for Town over the rest of the season.
The Wales international has put more than two years of injuries behind him to return to the first-team at Portman Road and scored last time out in the 4-0 win over Gillingham in the Leasing.com Trophy.
“Emyr deserves great credit after going through what he has done in his career,” Town boss Paul told the Club website.
“I thought if he broke down again in the summer it would be hard for him to come back from that.
“He has battled away with it all, having good days and bad days and having to adjust to the speed of the game again.
“The great thing is he’s back smiling again and back enjoying his football and he can be a real asset for us over the rest of the season.
“He’s got a terrific left foot and he is certainly not here to make up the numbers. He is playing well enough to start games now.”
