"It was like a cup game out there again and it’s going to be like that this season but we are dealing with it well"
Paul Lambert hailed his team’s start to the season as incredible as Blues stretched the lead at the top of League One to four points.
A second-half goal from Kayden Jackson, his sixth of the season, gave Town the win at Fleetwood and extended the unbeaten league run to 11 matches.
Kayden missed a late penalty and Town finished the game with 10 men after James Wilson was sent-off for a second booking but Paul felt Blues were well worth the win.
“I thought we deserved it. We were excellent and had some really good moments in the game,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“Apart from the penalty given, I thought we should have two others when Nolo [Jon Nolan] and Kayden were brought down.
“The red card was harsh on James as well. There were some strange decisions but we got there.
“It’s been an incredible start for us and we are playing really well. It was like a cup game out there again and it’s going to be like that this season but we are dealing with it well.
“It should have been more convincing scoreline but they are going well so it was always going to be difficult but I thought it was an excellent performance.”
